Note: Entry conditions to Germany and the Schengen Area as per the REGULA-TION (EU) 2016/399 remain and need to be fulfilled by the traveller.
Apart from this, the following Covid-19 travel restrictions for GERMANY apply.
The decision on entry at the EU external border (and, if applicable, the respec-tive internal borders on the route to Germany) is made exclusively by the re-spective border authorities.
This also applies for holders of a valid visa granted by the German missions abroad.
In compliance with the still valid general entry requirements for the Federal Repub-lic of Germany, the following additional entry restrictions apply in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic
A. Direct Airside Transit
No restrictions
Please be aware of the confirmed onward ticket to the next non-Schengen country and
Possible Covid-19 related entry restrictions at the final destination. Be aware that there is no Covid-19 test facili-ty for regular transit passengers in the International Transit Area.
B. Entry to remain in Germany
No restrictions for
1. a) EU nationals, nationals of Schengen states and nationals of Andorra, Monaco, San Marino, Vatican City
b) GBR nationals holding a Withdrawal Agreement residence document issued by an EU country or a Schengen state
2. Third country nationals holding a residence permit or visa type D issued by an EU country or a Schengen state
Visa type D: Residence is required! Not for the first entry to establish residency
3. Core family member of nationals mentioned under No. 1 and No. 2
Spouse or registered partner, minor unmarried children and parents of minors
4. Holder of official letter issued from a DEU mission confirming urgent travel needs
