Whereas the Director General, Aviation Security, is of the opinion that it is in the public interest and not likely to adversely affect aviation safety or security to exempt the all air carriers from the application of subparagraph 7(2)(a)(i) of the Air Carrier Security Measures.
Therefore, the Director General, Aviation Security, pursuant to subsection 5.9(2) of the Aeronautics Act, hereby makes the following Aviation Security Exemption No. ACE-2021-04.
Attendu que la directrice générale, Sûreté aérienne, estime que l’intérêt public le justifie et que la sécurité ou la sûreté aérienne ne risque pas d’être compromise du fait d’exempter tous transporteurs aériens de l’application du sous-alinéa 7(2)a)(i) des Mesures de sûreté des transporteurs aériens.
Par conséquent, en vertu du paragraphe 5.9(2) de la Loi sur l’aéronautique, la directrice générale, Sûreté aérienne, émet l’Exemption sur la sûreté aérienne no ACE-2021-04, ci-après.
APPLICATION
1. This exemption applies to air carriers operating flights from aerodromes in Canada.

PURPOSE
2. The purpose of this exemption is to allow an air carrier to use alternative methods to secure an aircraft door to accommodate the operation of preconditioned air (PCA) (heating/heater and/or cooling system/air conditioner) or a dehumidifier onboard, when an aircraft is unattended.
OBJECTIF
2. La présente exemption a pour objet de permettre à un transporteur aérien d’utiliser des méthodes alternatives pour sécuriser la porte d’un aéronef afin de permettre le fonctionnement de l’air préconditionné (appareil de chauffage/chauffage-eau et/ou système de refroidissement/ climatiseur) ou d’un déshumidificateur à bord d’un aéronef, lorsqu’un aéronef est sans surveillance.
CONDITIONS
3. An air carrier is exempt from the requirements set out in subparagraph 7(2)(a)(i) of the Air Carrier Security Measures, for unattended aircraft, provided that:
(a) the aircraft is parked in the restricted area of the aerodrome;
